It was announced during the week that Letterkenny cyclist Philip Deignan is retiring from professional cycling.
Deignan has been riding with Team Sky since 2014 and during his career, he rode 10 Grand Tours and picked up two professional wins, including a stage of the Vuelta a Espana.
He represented Ireland in the Men’s Road Race at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. During his professional carer he also rode with Unitedhealthcare, Radioshack and AG2R.
