The Director of Donegal County Council’s Roads Service says the council is taking in fresh supplies of salt from three different sources, and with lorryloads of fresh supplies due in every day this week, there is no risk of supplies running out.
John Mc Laughlin says at no point have any main roads been left untreated either because of budgetary considerations or supplies of salt and grit.
Mr Mc Laughlin says the council’s staff has done a remarkable job over the past three weeks, laying an unprecedented amount of salt and grit.
