The killing of Constable Ronan Kerr has been condemned by Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Justice Minister Alan Shatter, as well as by Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan.
In a statement, the Commissioner said the members of An Garda Síochána stand together with their colleagues in the Police Service of Northern Ireland. The uniforms may be woven from different cloth, he said, but the police on this island are bound together by a shared resolve and determination to bring those responsible for this crime to justice.
In a press conference this morning, the Chief Constable of the PSNI, Matt Baggott said Constable Kerr’s family were so proud of his achievements………….
