Olympics – Boyce Focused On First Games

Milford’s 50k walker Brendan Boyce departed Donegal on Monday for the Irish camp at St.Mary’s, London.
Brendan is one of five athletes from the North West involved in this year’s games, along with Letterkenny’s Marathon runner Catriona Jennings, DerryTri-athlete Elieen Morrison, FinnValley’s Pole Vaulter Tori Pena and Raphoe’s double Badminton Olympian Chloe Magee.
In reaching his goal of making the Olympics for the first time, Brendan was the only one of the three Irish walkers selected to hit the ‘A’ qualifying Standard twice.
Rob Heffernan and Colin Griffin will also be tackling the 50k walk in London.
Brendan was back home recently having completed an intense training camp in Spain.
Speaking on Highland before heading to London Brendan told Myles Gallagher he only felt the Olympic excitement on his trip back home…
