The Mayor of Letterkenny has called for the provision of roadside drinking water fountains at strategic locations around the town to reflect the large number of people walking and jogging in the area.
Cllr Dessie Larkin also said he attended last week’s Tourist Town awards in Dublin which saw Letterkenny beaten to the top spot by Portmagee in County Kerry in the new initiative which arose from the Tidy Towns competition.
However, he says having been successful in a process which saw the number of nominees cut from 100 to 46, and finally to 10, Cllr Larkin says Letterkenny’s performance was hugely creditable, and provides a very strong basis from which to develop………
