Parachute Regiment flags removed from Fountain area in Derry

Parachute Regiment Flags which had been erected in the Fountain area of Derry have been removed.
Calls were made last night to remove the Parachute Regiment flags which had been erected ahead of the anniversary of Bloody Sunday.
Thirteen people died when British paratroopers shot civil rights marchers in Derry in 1972.
Events are due to be held at the end of January to mark the 41st anniversary of the atrocity.
Foyle MP Mark Durkan said he is glad that people have seen sense and brought the flags down….
