Fianna Fail confirm that they will not be supporting budget, Council to collapse for first time in its 118 year history

Ciaran BroganFianna Fail have this afternoon confirmed that they will not be supporting Donegal County Council budget proposals.
Cllrs are meeting for the fourth day to try and adopt budget proposals for the year ahead.
If the budget is not adopted by midnight, then the County Council will collapse for the first time in its 118 year history, and the Environment Minister will have to appoint a Commissioner to adopt the countys budget.
Speaking a short while ago, FF party whip, Ciaran Brogan said as it stands his party are not in a position to adopt the budget.
And he says he is disappointed that there was no-one from Irish Water here today to address the Council:


barry o neillMeanwhile, Fine Gael party whip Barry O Neill has said that FF are simply using Irish Water as a stumbling block.
He says he and his party have been in contact with the Environment Minister, and as was confirmed today, he says a delegation from Irish Water will meet with Cllrs in March.
Cllr O Neill also said that it will send a terrible message to the rest of the country if the Council falls tonight:
