The Donegal GAA convention takes place this Sunday in Donegal Town
And ahead of that meeting, details have emerged of an issue surrounding the Donegal senior team’s holiday.
The holiday is part funded by Croke Park after Donegal reached the All Ireland final this year – and negotiations between the players and the County Board have been ongoing for some time over a suitable date for the holiday.
The holiday has been pencilled in for February – but that date doesn’t suit every player because of Sigerson Cup commitments and it has emerged that those players who are unable to travel then – can’t be given holiday vouchers to go at another time because of Croke Park regulations.
The matter came into the public arena this week when Co. Board Treasurer, Cieran Kelly was quoted in a story in the Irish News on Wednesday.
The story is carried today in the Donegal Democrat – but the Treasruer Cieran kelly said he did not wish to speak on the matter to the Democrat.
