Fans’ tears as Miranda says: I do

Miranda & Gary
Miranda fans finally got the happy ending they had been waiting for as her popular sitcom drew to a close.
The titular sitcom character created by comedian Miranda Hart finally married heartthrob Gary, played by Tom Ellis, in the final episode of the TV show.
Miranda was reunited with Gary after a cliffhanger ending to the second-last episode, where he stormed out after Miranda doubted his commitment to her.
Gary Barlow made a cameo appearance, singing Take That hit Greatest Day at the end of the episode, as did singer Heather Small, whose song Proud has been referenced frequently in the series.
Fans reacted positively to the episode, with many saying they had been reduced to tears by the emotional ending of the series.
The show was launched in 2009 and has run for three series. It has won critical acclaim for its slapstick comedy, likeable central character and old-fashioned humour.
Semi-autobiographical, it follows the trials and tribulations of Miranda’s character, who is clumsy, awkward and unusually tall, as she navigates social situations, deals with her pushy mother and tries to build a relationship with handsome chef Gary.
The first episode of the third series was the most-watched television programme at Christmas in 2012.
