Cross border delegation meeting the North’s Regional Development Minister

StormontA cross border delegation of councillors are in Belfast today for a meeting with Minister for Regional Development Danny Kennedy to discuss a range of issues relating to the Northwest.
Members of Derry City & Strabane District Council are joined by members of Donegal, Onagh and Fermanagh Councils.
The meeting was set up following a motion raised at a Full Council meeting of Derry City and Strabane District Council by Cllr Martin Reilly.
The delegation says it wants to highlight the high level of deprivation and unemployment affecting citizens in the region and to encourage the Minister to put into place a plan to help tackle these problems and encourage investment to the area.
In addition the delegation will seek an update on Progress with critical physical infrastructure projects required for the region including the A5.
Donegal County Council is represented by its Chairperson Councillor John Campbell, Councillor Paul Canning, CEO Seamus Nealy and John McLoughlin.
