The LYIT mens soccer team have qualified for the semi finals of the Colleges and University League.
In this afternoon’s quarter final played at the college grounds in Letterkenny, they beat IT Tallaght 1-0.
Paul Mc Veigh scored the games only goal while there were also good performances from Michael Kisugagbe, Peter Doherty, Daire Mc Daid and Darren Gallagher.
An open draw will take pace for the semi finals and the games will be played at neutral venues.
Elsewhere the LYIT women’s gaa side lost their division 3 semi final 4-10 to 3-9 at the hands of St Mary’s Belfast.
The girls will now focus for the championship which starts in the new year.
And the mens gaa team play their division 2 league semi final tomorrow against St Pats, Drumcondra.
That game will be played at the Monaghan Centre of Excellence.
