Irish Water has confirmed that a programme of works is being developed to improve water quality around the Convoy area.
The company says it expects the project will proceed to construction early next year, in an effort to combat discoloration and contamination of the area’s water supply.
Local Sinn Fein Cllr Liam Doherty says he’s been working closely with local residents around Convoy, particularly in a number of estates such as Beechwood Grove and Beechwood Park to address the poor quality of the main’s water supply.
He says while he and his party are committed to seeking the abolition of Irish Water, they are the competent authorioty at the moment, and he must work with them……….
