The five victims of Sunday’s family drowning in Buncrana will be buried together following a service in Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty on Thursday afternoon.
The three children and two adults died when their Audi SUV slipped on algae and entered the water from the slipway at Buncrana pier. A four month old baby was taken from the car by a bystander who went into the water to help, the childrens’ mother was not in the car, she had been attending a party in England.
The Mc Grotty and Daniels families have issued a statement thanking people for their support, and asking for privacy. Books of condolence are open at the St Joseph’s Galliagh and Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty in Derry, and the council offices in Buncrana.
