Harps labour to cup win

Ethan Boyle scored his  first ever Harps goal to send Ollie Horgan’s side into the next round of the EA Sports League Cup.
But Harps were disappointing against a Cockhill side who were the better team in the second half and did everything but get the equalising goal that their performance deserved.
Garbhan Friel, Ronan Doherty and Derek Doherty all went close in the second half as the USL side took the game to Harps.
And deep in injury time at the finish, Friel flashed a shot across the face of goal as Cockhill pressed again.
Harps made eight changes from the weekend with debuts for Michael Rafter and Ryan McConnell.
Both teams had chances in an entertaining first half but it was Harps who made the breakthrough with Boyle scoring what proved the winning goal – a wonderful strike from outside the box which beat Gavin Cullen.
