An Bord Pleanala has rejected a planned windfarm in Donegal, which would have been the largest on shore windfarm in the country.
Cork based company Planree Limited had lodged an application the facility at Carrickaduff, which would have seen 49 turbines constructed. Carrickaduff was filed under the state’s strategic infrastructure planning process and was based on turbines with 156.5 metre tip heights.
There was considerable local opposition to the proposal, with the Finn Valley Wind Action Group playing a lead role and hiring planning consultants to prepare a submissions.
