Sports coordinators in Donegal have launched a resource guide to promote safety in sport as more events occur on public roadways.
Myles Sweeney of the Donegal Sports Partnership said on Saturday Sport that the aim is to reduce the risk to competitors.
He said there is always an event being held across Donegal on roads, waterways and beaches such as five kilometre runs, marathons, and cycles, as growth continues in fitness.
The campaign also involves stakeholders like the gardai and Athletics Ireland in their concerted bid to raise awareness of health and safety in sport.
