191 LUH patients were awaiting admission on trollies or chairs in March

The total number of patients awaiting admission on trollies and on wards at Letterkenny Univeristy Hospital at the end of last month was 191.
That’s down 90 on March last year, and down 27 on 2006 when the INMO’s Trolley Watch began.
Letterkenny has bucked the national trend, which has seen the figures rise.
There were 228 patients on trollies at Letterkenny University Hospital in March 2006, 275 in 2007, 42 in 2008, 11 in 2009, 86 in 2010, 51 in 2011, 43 in 2012 and 180 in 2013.
In 2014, the year the Trolley Watch survey was expanded to include patients waiting in wards, there 277. That rose to 281 last year, and this year, has fallen back to 191.
