During the month of April, there were 41 patients awaiting admission in the Emergency Department or on the wards at Letterkenny University Hospital, down from 299 in 2015, a fall of 86%.
In the first four months of the year, the Letterkenny figure was 496, compared to 1,544 in 2015, a fall of 68%.
These figures contrast sharply with the national situation, which saw a 4% rise in the April figure and a 2% rise in the first four months of the year.
The figures have been released today ahead of the INMO annual conference in Killarney.
Issues of pay and conditions will be high on the agenda, as will what INMO General Secretary Liam Doran calls the crisis in the health service.
