Work on the long awaited Bonagee Link Road in Letterkenny will not begin until 2021 at least.
The news comes following the exclusion of the project from the government’s capital plan for the next five years, therefore it cannot be considered for funding under the National Roads Programme.
The new link road has long since been regarded as the solution to traffic gridlock in the town and surrounding area.
Senator Padraig Mac Lochlainn is calling on Minister Joe McHugh and Deputy Charlie McConalogue to ensure the plan is amended:
