Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher will find out this evening if he is to become Leas Cheann Comhairle in the Dail.
On June 2nd, Deputy Gallagher contested the position with Sinn Fein’s Sean Crowe and Independent Mattie Mc Grath. he received the highest number of votes, but did not secure the overall majority required.
Now, Fine Gael’s Bernard Durkan has been added to the list of candidates.
This morning, deputies voted by secret ballot, with each of the four candidates addressing the house.
