Derry City midfielder Barry McNamee has signed a new one year extension to his contract at the Brandywell.
The new deal will keep the Ramelton man at the club until the end of the 2017 season.
The 24 year old has scored three goals in eighteen appearances this season.
Manager Kenny Shiels told Derrycityfc.net, “Barry’s been fantastic for us this season. He’s a key player and he’s one that I see a really good future for at this club, and it’s important to get players like Barry signed up. We’ll be talking to the other lads in the coming weeks and Barry is the first one, so it’s great to have him over the line and we’ll be speaking to the others after the Longford game.”
“The building blocks have to be in place and that’s what we’re trying to do, to build a stable foundation for the future and for next season. I think next season will be a massive season and we need to have the right sort of people here and I think keeping the young lads is key.”
