Shane Ward resigns as Leitrim boss

Shane Ward has stepped down as manager of the Leitrim footballers.
Following their Connacht championship exit to Roscommon, Leitrim registered a first round qualifier win over Waterford before their championship campaign was brought to a halt with an 11-point defeat to Sligo earlier this month.
Despite calls from team captain Gary Reynolds for the management team to remain in place, Ward has now decided to announce his resignation.
