A Donegal County Councillor is calling for more Garda checkpoints across the county following the high level of drink driving detections last weekend.
Yesterday Gardai revealed that there was double the amount of drink driving detections in Donegal during the August Bank Holiday compared with the figures for last year.
Chairperson of Donegal Policing Committee Cllr Gerry Mc Monagle says while there are efforts to educate people on drink driving in place, more needs to be done:
