Derry is already feeling a fallout of Brexit, according to SDLP MLA Mark H Durkan.
This follows an announcement that a planned route between City of Derry Airport and Dublin will not go ahead.
Brexit has been cited as the reason for this cancellation.
Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan has expressed his disappointed after CityWings announced that the plan for a route between City of Derry Airport and Dublin will no longer go ahead.
He said that with the earlier cuts to Ryanair flights from Derry to London, this further announcement has left the people of Derry very anxious that this is the beginning of an airline exodus that will hollow out one of our few centres of transport infrastructure and seriously damage the city’s economic prospects.
The loss of both the proposed Dublin route and cuts to London flights have been blamed on Brexit.
The SDLP MLA said that the people in Derry recognise that remaining in the EU is best for the local economy.
