Dail hears calls for action to ease overcrowding at Letterkenny University Hospital

The overcrowding crisis at Letterkenny University Hospital was brought to the fore in the Dail last evening.
The amount of people waiting to be admitted to the hospital soared to 45 on Wednesday – the joint highest in the country – while there were 24 patients awaiting admission yesterday.
The issue was raised by Donegal Deputy Charlie McConalogue who sought answers in a bid to ease the crisis:

Responding, Minister for Health Promotion Marcella Corcoran- Kennedy said that there are a number of reasons for the acute overcrowding at the hospital however, it’s hoped the Governments winter initiative will ease the pressure:
