West Tyrone MP Órfhlaith Begley isd hopeful of improved ambulance cover in the Western Trust Area after she met this week with the Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
She sought the meeting after it emerged that staffing has been an issue in recent years, with emergency ambulance cover as low as 60% of what it should be at times, particularly over the Christmas break.
She says this impacts on response times, and welcomed indications that extra staff are coming on stream.
She and party colleagues plan to meet with Department of Health officials to ensure funding is not an issue:
