Jobs created by Local Enterprise Office Donegal up 19%


The number of jobs created by the Local Enterprise Office Donegal is up 19%.
In 2018, 203 net jobs were created in the county by Local Enterprise Office supported companies, an increase of over 300 jobs since 2017.
Latest figures announced by Ministers Heather Humphreys and Pat Breen, show 2018 to be a positive year for the Local Enterprise Office Donegal.
203 net jobs were created by LEO Donegal supported companies last year, an increase of over 300 jobs from the previous year.
Nationally, 3,656 net jobs were created in 2018 with LEOs now supporting over 36,000 jobs across the country.
In Donegal last year, the LEO approved over €777,200 in grant aid to 36 projects.
Michael Tunney, Head of Enterprise says these figures highlight the important role LEO Donegal continues to play in supporting small and micro enterprises at local level in creating jobs and sustaining small businesses in the county and region.
A Brexit Customs Training to ensure small businesses can continue to trade effectively with a country outside the single market is to be rolled out this month.
