Donegal County Council officials are being urged to seek an immediate meeting with Minister Kevin Boxer Moran to discuss where the responsibility lies for flood repairs.
This week’s Municipal District Meeting was told that a new Flood Prevention group which has formed in Buncrana is also seeking discussions with the minister.
Cllr Martin Mc Dermott told the meeting that just last week, people spent two days in fear of a repeat of the devastation of 2017, some of whom can no longer get insurance.
He says the council has been highlighting the threat of blocked rivers for well over a year, but zero progress has been made:
