Eugene Gallagher has been officially co-opted onto Donegal County Council.
He replaces Dessie Shiels who resigned earlier this month.
Gallagher will now serve as a Councillor in the Letterkenny Municipal District.
Speaking in Lifford today, Cllr Gallagher says he has a number of key objectives going forward.
