Donegal County Council has confirmed that is has been in contact with contractors in relation to Gort na Greine in Letterkenny with a view towards addressing major water issues there.
The housing estate has been plagued by frequent outages with the last two instances as a result of a leak and a power outage.
Money has been invested in new pumps it’s thought that an electrical frame also needs to be put in place to ensure the pumps are working to a sufficient standard.
Meanwhile, residents are staging a protest outside the County House in Lifford this afternoon (1pm).
Cllr Gerry McMonagle is confident that issues will be addressed but is calling for the takeover process to be fast tracked:
