A Donegal County Councillor has moved to clarify details surrounding a proposed ban on Naomh Colmcille GAA Club.
Following an investigation, the GAA has recommended an eight week ban on all adult members after the club hosted an ‘unauthorised tournament’ in February.
It’s understood that the tournament was a fundraiser for Newtowncunningham man Paul Dillon, who has been diagnosed with MND.
Cllr Paul Canning says the local GAA club committee had nothing to do with organising the event.
He also says that the local parish agreed to the club leasing the grounds free of charge and these grounds still belong to the parish.
