Finn Harps headed back north with a point thanks to their 1-1 draw with Cork on Monday night.
Kevin O’Connor put Cork ahead four minutes into the second half but Keith Cowan equalised fourteen minutes from time to secure a share of the spoils at Turners Cross.
With UCD losing 2-0 to Sligo Rvs, Harps have now closed the gap on the students at the bottom to 6pts.
Harps host UCD this Friday in Ballybofey where a first win of the season for the Ballybofey side would reduce it to three.
