Man in court following high speed chase in Rathmullan

A man has appeared at Buncrana District Court today following a high speed chase in Rathmullan yesterday evening which resulted in a vehicle colliding with a Garda car.
The male has been charged with 18 offences under the Road Traffic Act.
He was bailed and will appear again in Letterkenny District in the coming weeks.
Two other men were arrested following the incident but have since been released.
Shortly after 7pm Gardai in Milford were first alerted to a drunk driver in the area.
Two units were dispatched and subsequently attempted to stop the vehicle outside Rathmullan however the driver failed to stop and was involved in numerous counts of dangerous driving towards Letterkenny.
Assistance was requested from Gardai in Letterkenny and the Roads Policing Unit.
A checkpoint was set up and the vehicle was eventually stopped after it collided with a marked Garda car attached to Milford.
