The most important decision made by the newly elected representatives of Donegal County Council will be to vote on funding Buncrana Leisure Centre.
That’s the view of Cllr Jack Murray who says the facility, which has been lying idle for several years, is very much an election issue.
It’s expected that a tender for the design of a new leisure centre is to be appointed by Donegal County Council shortly.
However Cllr Murray says that securing the matching funding from the local authority must remain a top priority for the new Council in order to get the project off the ground:
