Donegal TD has denied lobbying on behalf of aquaculture licence applicants on Ballyness Bay.
A letter written by Deputy Pearse Doherty in 2016 has surfaced in which he asks Minister Michael Creed for an update on the assessment of the bay’s suitability, indicating that the delay is having an impact on the site’s potential to become an important location for sustainable land and sea based activities.
However, Deputy Doherty says he did not and does not support any applicant, and if he did, he would have lobbied or asked questions in the Dail on his behalf.
Instead, Deputy Doherty says, no Donegal TD did so, and it was Galway TD Eamon O’Cuiv who asked questions in the Dail.
