Campaign group formed to tackle tax issues for cross border workers

 

The Government is facing pressure to make changes to personal tax liability regulations for employees working in the north but who live in the Republic.
A new campaign group in the North West has been set up to highlight the situation many workers face – largely prohibited from remote working and subject to ‘double tax’ on their income.
Named the Cross-Border Workers Coalition (CBWC), the body the financial contribution of this tax to the Irish Revenue is minimal and a blunt measure impacting on the health and wellbeing of workers.
