Weekend break-in while Mass underway at Cathedral

An investigation is continuing into a weekend burglary at St. Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny.
In what’s been described as an opportunistic crime, the break-in happened while mass was taking place.
The burglary happened on Saturday morning last between 10am and 10.30am.
Entry was gained to the Sacristy area of the Cathedral while Mass was taking place and a couple of mobile phones were stolen from there.
Gardai are interested in any sightings of a male who was observed in the area around the time.
The man is being described as in his mid 20’s and wore a backpack and green camouflage style trousers.
Gardai are particularly interested in hearing from anybody who was in the area of the Cathedral/Sentry Hill between 9.30am and 10.30am last Saturday morning and who may have observed this male on foot in the area or anyone who may have been in that area and who had a dash cam.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Letterkenny Garda Station.
