The Defective Blocks Working Group meets today again.
It’s the fourth meeting of the group set up by Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien in the wake of a large demonstration in Dublin organised by Mica affected homeowners demanding a 100% redress scheme.
After last week’s meeting, the PRO of the Mica Action Group, Michael Doherty said they are cautiously optimistic with how talks are going.
Among a number of issues discussed last week was the scrapping of up front fees, planning exemptions for like for like rebuilds and accomodation fees for families who need to move out of their home while remedial works are underway.
The Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien has committed to come back with an update on the scheme by July 31st.
