Health officials have reported an additional 18,904 confirmed cases of Covid-19 today in the Republic of Ireland.
1,011 Covid-19 patients are currently in hospitals, 92 of which are in ICUs.
The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan today underlined the importance of using masks, especially medical grade or FFP2 masks, saying they can play a key role in reducing transmission of Covid-19.
