While there has been a decline in new car registrations nationally, Donegal has recorded an increase.
According to figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, there was 1,519 new car registrations in the county this year to date, up 2.7% compared to the same period last year.
There was a 10% decline new car registrations across the country while electric cars double growth.
Brian Cooke, Director General SIMI says new vehicle registrations continue to remain challenging, with a slowdown during the month of May, reflecting the international supply chain issues.
