Just 29 properties were available to rent for people accessing the Housing Assistant Payment over the last month.
That’s according to the Simon Communities of Ireland’s quarterly ‘Locked Out of the Market’ report.
The report found that 672 properties were available to rent at any price within the 16 areas over the three dates surveyed last month.
The HAP scheme is a monthly payment from the state that goes towards paying rent.
