Ireland’s opponents in first game are “world class” – Amber Barrett

Republic of Ireland striker Amber Barrett  says that Australia are “world class”.

The Irish face the Aussies in  their opening game of the Women’s World Cup in Sydney on Thursday. The game starts at 11.00 am Irish time.

Meanwhile, influential midfielder Denise O’Sullivan will start tomorrow.

The influential player injured her calf in last week’s behind closed doors game against Colombia, which ended up being abandoned.

But she has proven her fitness and it’s a huge boost for the ‘Girls in Green’.

Donegal have two players in the squad, Barrett and Ciara Grant. Also from in the travelling party from Donegal are Denise McElhinney (operations manager) and Niamh McDaid (stats analysis).
