Convoy man Luke Witherow was on the Irish team that lost 4-2 to Spain in their latest International Hockey Federation game in India.
The two sides had played in the recent Olympic Qualifiers tournament in Valencia where Spain had beaten Ireland in the semi-finals.
Witherow plays his club hockey for Banbridge.
