Eileen Magnier – RTE News’ first ever female correspondent – is to retire after 34 years as North West correspondent.
She became the North West Correspondent in the summer of 1990, reporting from areas including Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo.
In a tweet, the Kilkenny-native thanked everyone who shared their stories with her over the years, as well as her colleagues.
