Number of adults in emergency accommodation for over six months increased 500% in past decade

The number of adults who have spent more than six months in emergency accommodation has increased by more than 500% in the past decade.

A report into homelessness found more than 55,000 people have been registered as homeless in Ireland since 2014.

Almost 30,000 had exited emergency accommodation to either social housing or private rentals.
