Voting underway in UK General Election with 18 MPs to be elected in the North

The polls are now open this morning for what is expected to be a historic UK General Election.

In Northern Ireland, over 1.3 million people are eligible to vote in 18 constituencies.

Overall, the Labour Party is expected to win a massive majority, while the Conservatives are facing a potential wipeout.

As for the Conservative Party they look likely to lose over 250 MPs, with many members of the Tory Cabinet losing out.

The polls are now open and they’ll close at 10 o clock tonight, with counting starting immediately in some areas.

First results are expected in in the early hours of tomorrow morning, with counting getting underway in Northern Ireland tomorrow.
