Police in New York say a gunman who killed the CEO of Letterkenny-based company, Optum had been lying in wait.
Brian Thompson was shot at least twice as he walked to an investor conference at a Manhattan hotel.
Authorities say it was a “brazen, targeted attack”.
The gunman fled the scene on an e-bike.
The victim’s widow Paulette says he’d had threats but wouldn’t give details when she paid tribute on NBC News:
