Drop in tourists visiting Ireland

There was a drop of almost 9% in the number of tourists visiting Ireland from abroad last month.

The Central Statistics Office found some 407,700 foreign visitors took a trip to Ireland last month, and spent just under €316 million on their trips – excluding fares.

That’s down over 5% in spending, compared to the same period last year.

The most frequent reason for travelling to Ireland was to visit family or friends.
