Bird flu detected in Donegal

RTÉ reports that a case of avian influenza has been detected in Donegal this month, since the introduction of new, stricter biosecurity regulations for poultry on 6th December.

It is the third case reported in Ireland recently.

The first two were found in Galway and Dublin.

All three cases have been found in wild birds.

Members of the public are advised not to handle sick or dead wild birds. Instead, they should contact their local vet or the National Disease Emergency Hotline.
