Education Minister urged to issue Ministerial order to stop relocation of Donegal Education Centre

There’s calls for the Education Minister to issue a Ministerial order to halt the relocation of the Donegal Education Centre from Donegal Town to Letterkenny.

The centre is set to close in Donegal Town at the end of this month, despite much campaigning to retain it.

Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher is now calling on Minister Helen McEntee to issue a stay of execution and for the Public Accounts Committee to conduct a review of the process.

It comes after a public meeting last week heard that Minister McEntee has effectively wiped her hands off the decision, saying it’s a matter for the centre’s board of management.

Deputy Gallagher says the decision to relocate fails to make sense:
